Halloween Party at Bello Gardens 🎃

Today was an exciting day for the senior citizens at Bello Gardens Assisted Living. We had lots of fun decorating the home for Halloween and doing Halloween themed arts and crafts. César (top left) and I made a light up ghost lantern together while he told me about his childhood in El Salvador. When I handed him a sticker shaped like a bat, it sparked a childhood memory of his. César told me that in El Salvador, they had flocks of bats. So many that they had to wear protection around their necks to avoid being bitten in the neck! Later, César told me he was having so much fun “thanks to you!”. Selma (one of the caretakers) dressed up in an inflatable dinosaur costume (On the right) and the residents were dancing and singing to the halloween music.

Kitty Walker, the program coordinator for LITA (Love Is The Answer), a wonderful organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors, collaborated with me today. We had a fantastic time working together, and I’m excited to team up with her again in the future. “Charlotte is incredibly helpful and has a natural connection with the seniors,” said Kitty Walker from LITA.
